Dopers

The sport of cycling has quite the reputation. I've started getting in the habit of checking VeloNews.com daily. Seems like everyday there's more news on someone getting busted for doping. I do understand that it's a very competitive sport. It's too bad it has to be like all the other sports, possibly even worse, in the performance enhancing scene. Honestly, I don't get why people dope. How could you feel good about yourself? I personally would not get any satisfaction of winning a race where I know I have cheated. Cycling is a choice. No one is making you ride your bike and race it. Some people take it way too seriously. It boggles my mind to hear about people doping with this or that substance. Heck, I feel guilty taking online quizzes/tests for my classes and use my book, even though we can. Anyway, after saying all that, there's really no way we can stop the problem. It's always going to be there in some way/shape/form. Some people just don't have any morals, well at least they are different morals than mine (and I'd like to think a majority of the rest of you). What sparked this from me today was the article about Tyler Hamilton being suspended from the Giro. WTF? Who knows though really. It could be a scandal. All the drug issues could be scandals. Maybe that's the art of cycling? I mean this world is full of way too much drama, so why shouldn't people add drama to cycling? Oh well. As long as I'm not a part of it, accused of it, around it, I guess it's not my problem. Maybe I shouldn't have ranted. But I really think it's ridiculous. So to all you dopers out there: Is it really worth it?
