This past weekend I headed to St. Louis for the Tour de Winghaven circuit race. It was super windy, and HOT! About 25 girls showed up. Molly, my teammate was there. The race wasn't super exciting. No one really did anything, and I think this was due to the harsh weather conditions. Our race was 9 laps of a 2.7mile course. The finishing stretch was on a gradual hill. There was a Queen of the Mountain competition. Almost every lap I pushed the pace up the hill, trying to get something to stick. Nothing stuck though. I took the points for the competition every lap except for one. On the last lap, Revolution came to the front to set up their sprinter. I sat 4th wheel back, behind Bri Kovac. Cathrine Walburg had the same thing in mind. Things came down to the final meters and I took off. I got a gap and took the win. Even though the race wasn't very entertaining, it was still fun. I enjoy racing with that group of girls. The race was a qualifier for Nature Valley. I had no idea coming in to the race. The top two riders were invited. This was passed down to the girls who weren't already going or weren't on a team that was already going. Pretty neat deal. Anyway, I walked away with some awesome cash and a basket full of alcohol. It was great to have a teammate in the race, as she helped cover some early attacks and helped me position myself for the sprint.

Now I'm in Minnesota at our awesome host house. It's beautiful. This morning we went to the Children's Hospital to talk to some of the children. We even got to be on the hospital TV show. It was pretty fun. Tonight we are heading to the Rasmussen College Women's Summit. Tomorrow the races are underway. Check back for updates (and pictures, hopefully). Thanks for reading!

Damn girl!
Damn twice, girl! Is it dry up there. Racing - even just riding around let alone training is a challenge here.

Good luck in the big races.
