Yesterday was the State Fair Grounds Criterium. This race course was different from last year. Last year it was called the Waterworks Criterium. I liked this course a lot better. It actually had a hill in it and wasn't just a flat circle course. On the drive up, it started raining. I told myself I wasn't going to race in the rain. Well, it stopped raining in time for my race, but the course was still soaked. I hate when that happens.
Anyway, nothing to exciting happened during the race. Eventually the lead group consisted of around 6 women I think. I felt decent during the race and threw out some attacks to split up the group. Two of the Birchwood (???) girls from Minnesota did the same. It came down to the last lap. I jumped in the middle of the climb and got a decent gap. Once I reached the top of the hill I thought for sure I was going to pop. But I was able to hold off for the win. My bike was trashed after the race. Caked in what looked like cement. Sand was everywhere. It wasn't the most pleasant experience I've had, but I did enjoy the course (minus the wind). The climb wasn't as bad as it had been made out to be.
Atlas had a decent showing for the race. Sean Walker got 4th in the Pro/1/2's. Dominic Moraniec got 2nd in the 4's and 3rd in the master's overall. Tracy Thompson pulled off the win, legitimately, in the cat 3's.
Next up, I don't know!! I have to decide between a road race or mountain bike race. The deciding factor will definitely be the weather. Hopefully I will get my new mountain bike ordered sometime this week, hopefully today, so it can be here in time for the first mountain bike race (if I decide to do it).
I built up the Madone frame last night. Pretty sweet. It weighs maybe just a hair lighter than the Cannondale, but not much. I'm anxious to ride it tonight to see how it feels. Anyway, that's all I have for now. Have a good day!

Haha, I like the report.
It took me forever to find the "picture" tab, definately not used to the layout here.
